Latest SurveyHead Panel News

by admin on January 28, 2009

If you have read some of the comments on this blog and our user review site, you may have noticed that some individuals have been unhappy with the surveyhead panel. Here is a little background on SurveyHead.

Surveyhead is an online survey panel is a product of the United Sample Network,  a company that provides online sample services to the market research community. United Sample was founded in March, 2008 by Matt Dusig and Gregg Lavin, who were previously the Co-founders of goZing.com.  They owned and operated goZing from 1999 until 2005, when they sold goZing for $30 million in cash to a public competitor. They then founded UnitedSample in March 2008.

I recently spoke to a representative of United Sample about some of the issues our visitors were having, and here is what he had to say about his panel, and its efforts to improve the panel.

“United Sample recently took on funding from a top tier Venture Capital firm.  They are using the funds to better target surveys as well as to increase headcount.  The sales team In particular is growing quickly which means a much greater number of unique surveys and other market research projects”

“United Sample recently made some key hires to their support / customer service team.  The result will be faster payments and conflict resolution for all survey takers.  Our goal is to respond faster than any other market research firm in the near future, we’re putting the team in place to accomplish that goal.  Growth has been tough to keep up with though so continued patience is appreciated for a bit longer”

Having joined the panel myself I do know that Surveyhead is a little rough around the edges, but I have seen some improvements with the panel recently. Plus, they have made every effort to update me with their latest news and help our readers that have requested help from us.

Having just reached the $25 threshold, I tried to request a payout. The cashout button is ‘dead’ and in view of my previous experience with GoZing, which was run by the same people who now operate Surveyhead, I am very, very wary. Have emailed them, telling them that I hope adverse comments on the net are not true, ie that they don’t pay out – we shall see. If I don’t get either a response or a payout, I shall be posting an extremely negative review of the site on Ciao UK, along with as many other review sites as possible.

Al,

I have emailed you at support@surveyhead.com three times now with my PayPal email address – once on 16th Feb and twice on 17th Feb, where I also answered your question on what system and browser I am using – is there still a problem?

Karen February 18, 2009 at 4:22 pm

Al,

I’ve just received your email re cashout – thanks.

Glad to see other people are having the same problem-I have been trying to cash out all morning (after 6 weeks of trying to get credit for a lousy $1!).

I have emailed Surveyhead twice-hopefully they will respond! I’ll post a resolution if they do!

Thanks!

I’m having the same problem cashing out. I also finished at least 5 other surveys, at least 20 minutes each, and didn’t get credit for them due to a plethora of dumb excuses. My customer service e-mails have yet to be respnoded to, and right now, Surveyhead is down. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!

Dear Panelist,

Thank you for posting your questions on this blog. The cash out button is not dead but there have been several issues with some browsers do to incompatibility. Changing the browser has helped most panelists in completing the cash out process, but I am always available to help as well. Just send an email to us with a note addressed to myself, and I can finish the cash out and confirm the cash out completion.
As to the other concern regarding some of the surveys not showing as pending yet, this actually is a simple matter of the surveys being credited upon the closure of the survey itself. Some of the surveys are looked at once the completions are all in, and will be credited to you at that time. The only requirement to get the credit is to have completed the survey 100% and the credit will be issued.
We know that it can be annoying to not see it right away, but they do get credited once the surveys are done. We appreciate the questions and are always happy to assist at anytime. I understand that Ryan was upset that the site was down for a bit, but we did apologize for the issue, and it is something that can happen with the internet.
Please always feel free to contact me directly by addressing the email to me. I will then get back to you within a couple days. Also keep in mind that we are not open on weekends, so we do not get back to anyone normally until the week begins. But when I was informed of the new blog comments, I wanted to address them right away even though we are not open. If you need anything else please just let us know and thanks again for taking the time to fill out our surveys.

As the one who began the responses to this topic, I’m pleased to be able to report some good news. I received my payment today, just over 6 weeks from my original cashout attempt – there was a series of unfortunate delays which were sorted out eventually – but I’d just like to reassure other members that at all times along the way, I did receive replies to my emails, giving updates, and with co-operation from PayPal, the funds reached my account in the end. My thanks to Al from Customer Service – come the next cashout, I may try using another browser as suggested if the cashout button is still not working with IE.

Al finally came through-although the weekend before I received my payout, a email came saying I’d violated some policy and that I would not receive my $25! I immediately wrote SurveyHead and cc: Al-he did apologize and I received my $25. He showed at least someone there cared! I am going to give SurveyHead one more chance, and I hope the same delay does not happen!

Thank you for the kind words Karen, and we do understand your frustration. We are striving to make the changes needed to meet everyone’s needs and know that most have been patient. We appreciate you all and will continue to change and meet your needs. I did want to note that we are actually not open on weekends, so we will get back to you on your questions during the week.
If you need anything, just email me again at support@surveyhelpcenter.com. You are always able to address the email to me.

Thank you again for your time and patience!

i have been with surveyhead over 3 months now i have seen a lot of negitive reports and am concerned myself it took a long time to get to cashout threshhold then when i did i got a lot of surveys that hav not been approved yet so i have &43.20 sitting there i cant do anything with

Jim the Admin May 24, 2009 at 8:43 am

Doug,

Surveyhead has to wait for their survey studies to complete before they can move them from pending to available. Once you have the $25 in the available field, you can request your payment via PayPal. I will tell you that even though Payment is via PayPal, it still does take up to 4 weeks to receive payment. However, I myself have received payment from them, and so have several others that have commented on the board.

However, if you feel that something is taking too long, you can always contact support at support@surveyhead.com.

Leslie June 11, 2009 at 12:55 pm

Yes, I finally reached the $25.00 threshold and had a little more than the required amount. They only paid me $25.00 and carried the balance over to the next time I reach the threshold. I have been working with survey companies that pay via Paypal. With these companies, my paypal payment is processed immediately and I am paid within the 2 days. Why does it take surveyhead so long to pay via paypal. They said it would take up to 2 weeks.

doug June 14, 2009 at 1:09 am

I have recieved payment from surveyhead at last it took a while but was worth it

Nancy June 28, 2009 at 1:57 pm

I have never experienced any problems with Surveyhead. It does take time for them to confirmed when you do cash out and when the money is deposited into your paypal account. Other than that no problems with IE compatability.

Renee Harrower July 30, 2009 at 8:58 am

have tried 3 different browsers and cannot get the cashout button to work. Have emailed support over 4 times, no acknowledgement or reply. I am due £19.65 and I would like my funds please.

Jim the Admin July 30, 2009 at 9:33 pm

Renee,

That is odd, as I recently cashed out and it worked fine. I was using Firefox though. Although It is my understanding that all browsers are supported now. If you have $25 USD in confirmed earnings it should work fine.

I suggest you email the Al with the support team directly at

Customer Service (support@surveyhead.com ) if you cannot get it to work.

Al Arevalo July 31, 2009 at 1:54 pm

Dear Renee,

Thank you for posting the note as I was not aware of the issues you were having, please email me directly at the support box and I can get you cashed out if you have not all ready. The browser issues had slowed to where most could cashout without issue but there seems to be an issue re emerging on this again. I looked for an account by just your name and could not find one, so you email address should help me do that. Include the PayPal email that you want it directed to and I will follow up once it has been processed.

Thanks again,

Jerry,

Al this thread is a little outdated, and Al is no longer with Surveyhead. I started a new thread over at GetPaidSurveys.com for people having issues with payment. If you can post your concern there, I may be able to get someone for their current support team to help you out.

New Surveyhead thread:
