SurveySpot Review by LapisLee

Survey Spot is the absolute best survey site I have found since I started taking paid online surveys in January 2008. They rank 1st with $422.80 earned and $419.80 received. SurveySpot has a very straightforward cash system, where they send emails that clearly state how much you will earn and how long it will take to complete the survey. The minimum cash out threshold is $5 and I have cashed out 18 times since March 2008. It takes four to six weeks for the checks to arrive and they do not currently have PayPal, although they made an announcement in April 2009 that they would be getting PayPal soon.

As with other sites it is very important to keep your profiles up to date and to click on emails as soon as possible from SurveySpot. Surveys range in value from $1 to $10 and last from a single minute up to 30 minutes depending on the cash value. Upon the successful completion of each survey, you will also receive an entry into the $25,000 Grand Prize sweepstakes and even if you are disqualified you have a chance to play the Instant Win game, either the slot machine or scratch off ticket, and earn either five, 25 or 100 sweepstake entries into their various Instant Win sweepstakes as follows:

Thirty (30) First Prizes (10 per month): $250 Electronics Prize.
Thirty (30) Second Prizes (10 per month): $250 Video Prize.
Ninety (90) Third Prizes (30 per month): $100 Music Prize.
One hundred twenty (120) Fourth Prizes (40 per month): $100 Electronics Prize.
Ninety (90) Fifth Prizes (30 per month): $100 Video Prize.
Three hundred (300) Sixth Prizes (100 per month): $50 Electronics Prize.
One hundred fifty (150) Seventh Prizes (50 per month): $50 Music Prize.
One hundred fifty (150) Eighth Prizes (50 per month): $50 Video Prize.
Total ARV of all prizes: $100,000.

Survey Spot is known for sending many survey invitations for sweepstakes entries and my recommendation is that after you have established your credibility with SurveySpot over a few months and cashed out at least once, you no longer need to take surveys just for a sweepstakes entry; however, a few of these surveys will turn out to be product tests, invitations to lucrative Invoke Interactive panels or forums that pay monthly incentives for posting and completing various activities, so ignore these sweepstakes-only surveys at your own risk. The winner’s list is posted here: http://www.surveyspot.com/rewards.shtml .
Currently, SurveySpot is also running their immensely popular Spot the Winner football contest which has a weekly prize of $50, a monthly prize of $150 and an end-of-the-season prize of $500 to the person that picks the most winners of the weekly NFL football games. I am currently ranked 862nd in this contest.

SurveySpot, like most other legitimate survey sites, has a very strict privacy policy and will not sell, distribute or make available in any form personally identifiable information of any member of the site without their expressed permission as outlined in their privacy policy. I am having problems with Survey spot since they have changed to the points system. Two weeks ago I sent them this complaint. I have followed up several times on this through their website and have yet to hear even though they promise to respond in 72 hours.

“According to your website, points are awarded immediately after a survey is completed. In the past several weeks I have completed the following surveys: #782474 for 300 points on 12/19; #781224 for 100 points on 12/16;#780855 for 700 points on 12/10; #778314 for 200 points on 11/19. As of this date I have not seen any points for any of the above mentioned surveys I have completed being credited to my account. Additionally I have completed the following surveys for cash: #774038 for $3.00 on 11/24; and # 772644 for $2.00 on 10/7. These cash rewards are also not shown as being credited to my account. I also emailed you last week regarding payment on the 10/7 survey. I have yet to hear back. ”

They used to be a dependable website though they were always slower than most in crediting completed surveys. That is why I also keep the invitation email after I complete one so I can keep track. At this point, I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Conneticut because SSI is accredited by them. If enough of us do this, maybe SSI will realize that they have a service problem on their hands. Until my complaint is resolved, however, I refuse to waste my time taking their surveys.

Steve,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with the site. I do not believe that we state anywhere that your points are awarded immediately after completing a survey. If you did see that somewhere on this site, please let us know where so that we can correct that. We do our best to keep the details for these panels as up to date as possible.

There policy for cash surveys used to be that it could take four to six weeks for earnings to show in your account. I believe with the new point system is supposed to be a little quicker. They state in their FAQs section points are deposited “usually within a few days” of completing a survey.

Again, sorry to hear that you are having issues, but again all I can suggest is that you try to contact them via the online help form

Hopefully, they will get your issues resolved soon.

I too have seen a lot of problems lately.

1) Invalid addresses in the e-mail invite for the start links
2) “open surveys” on the site that are closed when you hit the start button
3) disqualification from survey after answering 1 question and being told “Although more of our members responded than we expected and we’ve received all the interviews we need for this research study”
4) e-mails to Support not being answered.
5) Harder to qualify for surveys that award cash or points than before.

Just overall…..this site has become a general frustration over the past year or so.
